Cleveland Clinic Appoints Albert Marinez As Its First Chief Analytics Officer

Cleveland Clinic has hired Albert Marinez as its new chief analytics officer, citing his two decades of experience driving analytics strategy for global health institutions and technology service providers.

Marinez, who most recently served as Intermountain Health's chief analytics officer in Salt Lake City, not only led data and analytics strategy for the system's care delivery sites, but also launched the system's Centre of excellence for artificial intelligence and worked to implement a next-generation data analytics strategy and platform. Marinez spoke with Healthcare IT News in April on AI and machine learning trends, explaining how automation is helping to scale value-based care efforts at the 33-hospital system, which he says is prioritizing a population health-first strategy.
