Miscellaneous First-Line Supervisors, Protective Service Workers in Healthcare include individuals who supervise and coordinate the activities of workers who provide security and protective services in a healthcare setting, such as hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. These workers may include security guards, loss prevention specialists, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs), among others. They have primary duty of ensuring the safety and security of the patients, staff, and visitors in the healthcare facilities.

Security guards are responsible for maintaining order and protecting the property, assets, and people within the healthcare facility. They may also provide escorts and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed.

Loss Prevention Specialists are responsible for identifying and preventing losses due to theft, fraud, or other forms of criminal activity within the healthcare facility. They may use surveillance equipment, conduct investigations, and make recommendations to management about security measures that can be implemented to reduce losses.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients who are injured or become ill in the healthcare facility. They may also be responsible for transporting patients to other healthcare facilities, as well as providing first aid and other emergency services as needed.

The supervisors in these positions are responsible for overseeing the work of these employees, assigning tasks and shifts, monitoring performance, and providing training and development opportunities. They also may be responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures, and ensuring that the healthcare facility is in compliance with all state and federal regulations. They should have experience in their respective fields and knowledge of security, emergency procedures, laws and regulations to effectively do their jobs.
