Firefighters in healthcare may work for municipal fire departments, or they may be employed directly by healthcare facilities. They are trained to handle medical emergencies as well as fire emergencies, and also familiar with the layout and operations of healthcare facilities, which allows them to quickly and effectively respond to emergencies.
