Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS): Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Model
The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model is a type of advanced alternative payment model (APM) used in the healthcare industry. The CJR model is a mandatory bundled payment arrangement for hip and knee replacement surgeries, and it applies to hospitals in certain geographic areas. Under the CJR model, a single payment is made to the hospital for the entire episode of care for a hip or knee replacement, including the surgery and related services such as physical therapy. The hospital is then responsible for managing the costs of care for the patient and coordinating with other providers. The goal of the CJR model is to improve the quality and efficiency of care for these procedures, while also reducing costs. Hospitals that are able to manage the costs of care effectively and meet certain quality benchmarks may earn a bonus payment.
Know anyone building innovative solutions that belong in this 'Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Model'?

We look forward to welcoming all of you to Sitges for the 17th ICRS World Congress from September 9-12, 2023. We-Wael Kafienah and Aaron Krych- are the Co-chairs of the Scientific Program Committee, and together with our committee members, are planning a scientific program that will energize our current members, welcome new colleagues, and help to define the pathway forward. We have chosen the theme of the meeting to be "Time for Action: Advancing the Science and Treatments for Cartilage and Joint Preservation" to recognize the critical need and urgency for progress in our field.
