This nice analysis shows that AI-enabled devices with FDA approval have are now relatively common. The FDA now has better capabilities to evaluate devices which use machine learning ("AI" is still more hype than reality in medicine).
The majority of recently FDA cleared AI-enabled medical devices so far are in the cardiology and radiology specialties because they have more data readily available to use for "machine teaching".
