Digital Health technologies and their data potentially offer significant opportunities for health management, with both individuals and health research. Research areas includes pharmaceutical trials, medical studies, public health programs, pandemic response, and consumer health product evaluation. With suitably organized and maintained health data generated by a consumer or home Digital Health devices combined with medical records from other sources greatly enables these opportunities. This talk discusses a practical approach to organizing and managing this data with standards and requirements.

The COVID-19 pandemic drove significant expansion in federal and state-based telebehavioral health policies, playing a critical role in ensuring access to mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services. In this webinar, a panel of clinical, compliance and legal experts will examine the most important telehealth policy changes and impact(s) on the delivery of mental health and SUD/MAT services:

1. How telehealth supports providers
2. Legal and regulatory topics
3. Prescribing controlled substances via telehealth
4. Reimbursement for telebehavioral health/SUD services
5. Privacy considerations

The panel will also share key lessons learned during the public health emergency and discuss telebehavioral health and SUD/MAT treatment policies that should be made permanent at the federal and state levels to ensure continuity of care and maximum access to services for those in need.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic, telehealth regulations at the federal and state levels have become more flexible. This has allowed for multiple rural and urban healthcare facilities to adopt and develop a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) telehealth model in order to accommodate the targeted patient populations. In this presentation, the Crossroads Partnership for Telehealth project team will present strategies on implementing an integrated DTC telehealth platform, reimbursing for services, following ever-changing policy alterations, constructing an effective infrastructure, and sustaining an efficient care model for behavioral health and primary care services.
