Telehealth, HIPAA, and the Digital Tools You Need to Make it all Happen

The goal of this workshop is to teach you the HIPAA laws and technological concepts you need to do it “right.” We’ll discuss types of video products and other digital tools you may need, including integrated products like EHRs/EMRs. We’ll also cover regulations around email and texting, including some relatively new research about email breaches. In addition, we’ll discuss other common needs and tools for doing telehealth, such as how to best get forms filled out and signed, legal issues around file storage, getting paid, filing insurance claims, sending client statements and receipts digitally, appointment scheduling and reminders and more. You’ll learn ways to do it that are not mind-bogglingly difficult to implement. In short, this workshop is about how to do telehealth both easily and legally – all at the same time.
