Behavioral health care is needed now more than ever.  Due to the nationwide shortage of psychiatrists, many individuals seek mental health care from their primary care providers, many of whom lack the capacity to manage mental health conditions due to brief appointment times and the competing demands of preventative care.  As a result, many refer patients to outside clinicians for behavioral health services.  Unfortunately, this fragmentation makes it difficult to align mental and physical health care, which can compromise patient outcomes, particularly for those with complex needs.
