Cedars-Sinai has launched a Digital Innovation Platform to build and scale digital health companies, addressing unmet needs in healthcare technology. Partnering with Redesign Health, the initiative includes three components: a venture builder, an internal entrepreneurship program, and a robust data platform. This move goes beyond Cedars-Sinai’s existing accelerator by enabling co-creation of tailored solutions. Key focus areas include expanding specialty care access, personalizing medicine, improving hospital workflow with AI, and enhancing care coordination. The platform empowers clinicians and staff to identify and develop innovations while leveraging data at every stage. This approach allows Cedars-Sinai to shape healthcare solutions from inception, aligning them with its specific operational and clinical needs.
The health system has singled out four areas, the first of which is specialty care access and extension. Nabet explained that this area could benefit from virtual-first tools that can cut wait times and expand convenient access to patients outside healthcare facilities.Personalized medicine is the second key area. Combining data from various sources, such as genomics and wearables, could help enhance diagnostics and decision aids to personalize and individualize care.
