Peninsula Imaging Network (PenRAD) has implemented Qure.ai’s AI-powered chest CT (qCT) service across five imaging sites in four NHS trusts in South West England to enhance early lung cancer detection. Launched in early 2025, the AI supports radiologists by identifying and tracking lung nodules, aiding diagnosis and monitoring. The system processes around 1,200 scans weekly, supporting patients across rural, coastal, and urban areas. Funded by the UK government’s £21m AI Diagnostic Fund, the initiative was developed in collaboration with Health Innovation Southwest and the Peninsula Cancer Alliance. qCT also offers clinical decision support with volumetric analysis and malignancy risk scoring. In parallel, a secure private cloud was established via a partnership with Exponential-e to enhance data protection.
