Enhancing The Resilience Of Remote Patient Monitoring And Hospital-At-Home Systems: A Digital-Twin-Based Framework

Advances in sensor and information technology have given new momentum to a care concept that was first mentioned and tested in the 1970s: the hospital at home (HaH)1. This concept, also referred to as ‘virtual ward’, is defined as delivering care in a patient’s home environment with an intensity similar to that provided in a hospital2, through means such as remote patient monitoring (RPM).
