Rethinking Vaccine Messaging With Vaccine Enthusiasm Plateau
Vaccine enthusiasm in the US is hitting a plateau, with the number of patients intending to get the vaccine or already having gotten it leveling off over the past month, according to figures from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
These different levels of vaccine enthusiasm underscore different barriers to vaccine appointment access, the data furthered. For example, most of those who want the shot right away said they are having trouble logistically, or are confused about their eligibility.
These patients are busy, can’t take time off from work, don’t have the right documentation, or don’t have enough information about how to get the vaccine. To get these patients over the vaccine access threshold, community health outreach, patient navigation, and patient education will be essential.
