Standard Occupational Classification (SOC): Helpers--Roofers

Roofers in healthcare facilities are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing the facility’s roofing systems. This may include tasks such as installing new roofs, repairing or replacing damaged roofs, and maintaining roofs to extend their lifespan. Roofers in healthcare facilities may also be responsible for inspecting roofs for damage or other issues, and for preparing reports on the condition of the facility’s roofs. In addition to their technical skills, roofers in healthcare facilities must also have good physical stamina, as their work often involves climbing, bending, and standing for long periods of time. They must also be able to follow safety procedures and regulations carefully, as they may be working at heights or in other potentially hazardous conditions.
