KLAS: Alarm Management

Alarm Management devices in health care settings like hospitals are used for various purposes like indicating unsatisfactory physiological patient states, unsatisfactory working of any medical device or medical electrical system, or to warn the operator about any technical damage in the medical instrument that can be fatal to both patient as well as the operator. Medical alarms have been found to be hazardous to the patient safety and therefore need to be managed properly. Alarm management software are developed to serve as middleware for the electronic exchange of patient alarms and patient data from multiple sources (like patient monitors, infusion pumps, infusion pumps, lab results etc) and routed to the correct communication medium for clinical communication(hospital phone, pager, email etc).
