Frost & Sullivan: Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
Electronic health records (EHR) are digital replacements of paper medical records or charts at a clinician’s office. They provide a lot of information about patient health, including medical history, medicines used in the past, current medications, radiology reports, vital signs, allergies, health conditions, etc. EHRs are very useful in improving patient care while reducing healthcare costs. They are patient-centric records designed to make patient information readily available to authorized users.
EMR health helps in sharing patient health information among different healthcare sources, including health care providers and organizations. Electronic health record systems are highly reliable sources of patient data, but they do not provide any information about the medical and treatment histories of patients.
Know anyone building innovative solutions that belong in this 'Electronic Health Records (EHRs)'?
Electronic health record modernization has been on the rise in government agencies recently. It has enabled data interoperability, patient empowerment of data, and ease of use for clinicians and providers. Program Year 2021 (PY2021) is the final year to attest to the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. The deadline to attest for PY2021 is August 3, 2021.
Per the HITECH Act, all Medicaid EHR Incentives must be paid by December 31, 2021, which means that all MU applications must be validated and approved by mid-October 2021 to allow time for the MU application payments to process.
During this session, we will explain the attestation timeline and key dates for PY2021. We will also discuss exactly what is needed to meet MU requirements and successfully attest for the final program year.
