As the healthcare landscape shifts from the traditional fee-for-service model to value-based payment models or alternative payment models, where incentives are based on outcomes, there is an imperative need for innovative health IT that is built around the patient, regardless of where the patient seeks care.
The CQM Aligned Population Reporting (CAliPR) tool helps providers meet the electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) reporting requirements of federal and state incentive and value-based payment programs. CAliPR is designed to calculate eCQMs at a provider, practice, payment arrangement, and community level to support incentive and value-based payment programs. It achieves this by allowing you to aggregate data from all of your EHR and practice management systems, as well as from healthcare organizations throughout the care continuum, to serve your various eCQM reporting needs.
How Can CAliPR help you?
Drive Quality Improvement Initiatives
CAliPR provides insight into the overall performance of providers, staff, practices, and organizations in key areas of measurement within the healthcare industry. Such information is useful for guiding the changes to the process to ensure quality goals are met.
Efficiently Use Healthcare Resources
As a “network-based eCQM solution,” a provider can get credit for screenings, test, or results that took place outside of their healthcare facility. This can serve to reduce the number of unnecessary or duplicative orders.
Improve Patient Safety and Adherence to Clinical Guidelines
If a healthcare organization utilizes CAliPR to its full extent, and quality improvement initiatives are employed to improve the lives and health of the population served, then adherence to clinical guidelines is validated, and patient safety improves.
Supplement Clinical Decision Support
CAliPR eCQM results serve to inform providers and medical staff when a care gap exists with a patient, so they may act on the opportunity to provide a higher level of quality of care.
Support Meaningful Use and Quality Payment Program Requirements
As an ONC Certified Health IT Module, CAliPR can be utilized by providers to report their eCQM results for both incentive and value-based payment programs.
Support Population Health and Analytics Initiatives
CAliPR stores all historical quality measure calculations so that users are able to compare point-in-time metrics over time. This allows users to identify trends in quality performance.
CAliPR relies on incoming consolidated-clinical document architecture (C-CDA), or quality reporting document architecture category 1 (QRDA 1) feeds from providers. These feeds are generated and sent by a health system’s or practice’s electronic health record (EHR), and the clinical information is stored in CAliPR’s clinical data repository. CAliPR’s calculation engine then utilizes this data to calculate various eCQMs. A QRDA 3 file containing aggregated, de-identified data is generated for reporting purposes. Providers have access to a user portal that allows them to view their respective measure results and patient level data.
